Lil and Liv's Tummy Soother

Two of my little nieces, ages 1 and 3, came down with a stomach bug this week. After visiting with my SIL on the phone we came up with a plan of action and a blend. She had been up all night with them vomiting, they were miserable and not keeping anything down.  Less than an hour after using the oils they were much happier and keeping down water and crackers!
We made a blend to go on the tummy, it was layered on their tummy along with doTerra's DigestZen blend. And then she put OnGuard on their feet, OnGuard is great for fighting nasty germs. We also wanted it because of the cinnamon oil in it. Cinnamon is a great booster oil to go with any others, it increases your blood circulation so that the other oils work quicker and more effectively.
   Here is our blend-

Lil and Liv's Tummy Soother

1/2t. Fractionated Coconut Oil, or any other carrier oil
5 drops Wild Orange EO
5 drops Lavender EO
3 drops Ginger EO
1 drop Peppermint EO

All 4 of those EO'S are soothing to the stomach in different ways. If that hadn't worked the next thing we would have tried was some Bergamot EO. Bergamot has helped many people with stomach problems.
Our blend is diluted and for the DigestZen, OnGuard and Bergamot if you are using them for children under 6 make sure you dilute them in a carrier oil before applying them.

So to recap- rub DigestZen on the stomach, then rub OnGuard on the bottom of feet, then rub Lil and Liv's Blend on the tummy. Then wait a few minutes and rub the Bergamot on the stomach if you feel it's needed.

When applying EO's to small children it's a good idea to put them on where they will then be covered with clothing. That way they will be less likely to get it on their hands and then their eyes or mouths.

Honey Cough Syrup

We have used this recipe a few times now and LOVE it. It is great for suppressing coughs and very soothing for sore throats. I got my inspiration from a pin on pinterest that didn't go anywhere so I can't give kudos to the inspirer :(

The kids are more than happy to take this, I give it to them (or me:) 1t. full as needed for coughs and sore throat. Or add it to a hot cup of chamomile tea, which make a very soothing and delicious drink.

                       Honey Cough Syrup

                       1/2c. pure honey
8 drops Lemon or Lime doTerra EO
8 drops Wild Orange doTerra EO
                       8 drops Frankensense  doTerra EO
                       5 drops Peppermint doTerra EO

Mix together well and store in an airtight container.
